Certified Pre-Owned Kia Forte
If you are looking for excellent value in your next car, then you should consider a Certified Pre-Owned Kia Forte. Buying Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) gives you the affordability of a pre-owned car but with the protections and quality control that you usually only find when you buy a new car. That is because Kia offers one of the most comprehensive CPO programs available today, and when you buy a CPO Kia Forte, you get a car that you know is reliable.
When you buy any vehicle, you want to know that it will be able to get you to and from work and around town safely and reliably. You will have this peace of mind with a CPO Kia Forte. Kia has made sure to equip each Forte with an efficient four-cylinder engine, going back to the introduction of this compact in 2010. Whether you buy a more recent version of the sedan as a CPO or opt for an older pre-owned Koup or Forte5 hatchback, you will be able to enjoy a great little car that is not just fun to drive but also seriously fuel-efficient and built to last. At Allentown Kia, we are proud to offer our customers CPO Kia Forte models that are perfectly designed for those of us who call Pennsylvania home.
The History of the Forte
The Kia Forte first hit the road as a 2010 model, offering drivers the choice of a four-door sedan or a two-door coupe called the Koup. This signaled to the public that the Forte wasn’t going to be just another compact but something that showed Kia’s attention to quality, reliability, style, and performance. Both models are front-wheel drive only, which continues to this day.
In addition, Kia offered the Forte with a choice of two four-cylinder engines. Most 2010 models pair a 2.0-liter I-4 gas engine with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission, which delivers up to 156 horsepower and 144 lb-ft of torque to give you a very impressive 36 MPG on the highway. For folks who crave serious performance, Kia offered a 2.4-liter I-4 gas engine on the Forte SX model with either a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission capable of 173 horsepower and 168 lb-ft of torque. This model is equally fuel-efficient, giving you up to 32 MPG on the highway with the six-speed manual transmission.
Showing its commitment to providing drivers with more options on the Forte, Kia added a hatchback version of this model called the Forte5 in 2011. This sporty model boosted the amount of trunk space on the Forte while offering the same choice of engines and transmissions as on the sedan and Koup.
2014 marked a big year for the Kia Forte as the company designed to do a full redesign on its flagship compact car. The 2014 Forte continued to offer three different models, including the sedan, Koup, and Forte5 hatchback. In addition, Kia began offering the Forte with a choice of three different engines, as well as the new electric power steering system called the FlexSteer that gives drivers the choice of comfort, normal, and sport modes for greater control over performance. The three engines offered on the second generation Forte include an insanely fuel-efficient 1.6-liter I-4 gas engine that gets 37 MPG on the highway, a very economical 2.0-liter I-4 gas engine with 173 horsepower, and a very throaty 1.6-liter turbocharged I-4 with 201 horsepower. While other automakers may have waited five to ten years to put out a new generation of a popular model, Kia didn’t waste time and delivered a second generation Forte that provided new options for drivers while maintaining all of the things that made them fall in love with the Forte in the first place.
While Kia continued building the sedan and Forte5 hatchback throughout the five years of the second generation, the decision was made to discontinue the Koup after the 2016 model year. Unfortunately, if you have your heart set on a Forte5 Koup, you won’t be able to get it as a Certified Pre-Owned model due to its age. More changes were in store for the Kia Forte in 2019, when Kia unveiled the third generation of this compact car. The Forte5 hatchback was discontinued, with Kia deciding to focus solely on the four-door sedan.
No matter which model or year of the Forte you choose, you are getting a quality car that is known for its dedication to safety. The Kia Forte is a perennial Top Safety Pick of the IIHS, getting that designation in 10 of the 13 years it has been built, including being named a Top Safety Pick+ for the 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 model years.
The Benefits of Buying a CPO Kia Forte
Few automakers offer a CPO program as comprehensive as the one provided by Kia. Each prospective pre-owned Kia Forte must be from the past five model years with fewer than 60,000 engine miles on its odometer in order to be considered for the Kia CPO program. Once it fits this qualification, the prospective Kia Forte must undergo a 165-point inspection. This is done to ensure that all performance, safety, infotainment, and passenger comfort features operate properly. This includes performing all state-required emissions tests, checking the vehicle history report for any potential issues, correcting any outstanding recalls, and giving the Forte a full road test. This is done to make sure that only the highest quality pre-owned Kia Forte models qualify for the CPO program.
Kia offers two exceptional warranty programs with every CPO Kia Forte model. The first is a 10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty. This covers things like the engine, transmission, transaxle, transfer case, and drive axle, which are often the costliest repairs on an older vehicle. The second is a one-year/12,000-mile comprehensive platinum warranty. This is the highest level of coverage offered by Kia and includes almost every part of your vehicle. This includes such items as the brakes, transmission, glass, batteries, exhaust system, safety systems, and audio system, provided these were all factory installed. In many ways, this platinum coverage on CPO Fortes is not unlike the bumper-to-bumper coverage that comes with new models.
Every CPO Kia Forte also comes with 24-hour roadside assistance. This means that if you get a flat tire or need a jump start when you are out on the road, simply call the hotline number, and Kia will provide a technician to help you address the problem on your CPO Kia Forte. This also includes such things as lockouts, refueling if you run out of gas on the road, and towing to the nearest Kia service facility if your vehicle breaks down.
Kia is committed to making its CPO program as transparent as possible. This is why each CPO Kia Forte comes with a complimentary CARFAX vehicle history report. This will show you such crucial information as the prior ownership of your Kia Forte, a full odometer report, service information, and whether the vehicle has ever been in a collision. If your CPO Kia Forte has satellite radio, you will also get a free 90-day trial subscription to SiriusXM that is so amazing you will probably decide to continue the service after the trial ends.
