The Telluride’s 10Best Streak Rides On

For the sixth consecutive year, the Kia Telluride has been named to Car and Driver’s 10Best Trucks and SUVs list.
The 2025 Kia Telluride joins the acclaimed ranks of… well, every other Telluride. Since its debut in 2020, Kia’s mid-size crossover has yet to hit a road block, earning a spot on Car and Driver’s prestigious list each year of its inaugural generation.
Today, Allentown Kia delves into how the 2025 Telluride was able to hold its crown – and what’s in store for the three-row SUV’s next generation.
‘Ride Along
The 2025 Telluride doesn’t necessarily need to go as hard as it does. With five straight 10Bests appearances already to its name, the latest Telluride could have checked its usual boxes and called it a day. But the Telluride has held onto its 10Best spot throughout this decade precisely because it refuses to rest on its accolades.
Like past versions of the Telluride, the 2025 model is powered by a 3.8L V6 engine delivering 291 horsepower. It’s remarkably efficient considering its size, earning impressive fuel economy for a three-row SUV. And with available all-wheel drive (AWD), it traverses the Lehigh Valley’s winter trappings with ease.
Up to eight people can fit in the Telluride’s roomy interior, making it ideal for families and group outings. The premium materials and thoughtful design provide a comfortable and luxurious ride, whether you’re commuting into Philly or embarking on a longer road trip. Front-row passengers will love the heated and ventilated seats, while back-row passengers enjoy abundant legroom.
The 2025 Telluride includes tech designed to make driving both easier and safer. The standard 12.3-inch touchscreen display, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto ensure seamless connectivity, while multiple USB ports scattered throughout all three rows of the cabin ensure there’s plenty of charge to go around.
Kia’s 2025 Telluride comes standard with comprehensive safety features, including:
- Forward Collision Avoidance-Assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection.
- Blind-Spot Monitoring to give you confidence in busy Freehold traffic.
- Highway Driving Assist, which helps maintain your lane and distance from other vehicles on longer trips.
The Next Generation
We can now start to look forward to the 2026 Kia Telluride: the Telluride’s first major overhaul, the official start to its second generation… and the first major test of the Telluride’s momentum.
Don’t expect the 2026 Telluride to look completely different from what came before it. In all likelihood, Kia will carry over its chassis and running gear from the first generation. The new Telluride’s most visible changes will likely be cosmetic. Spy shots from over the summer glimpsed EV-like styling updates and additional lower body touches. They also revealed a new “four-square” wheel design, adding a modest dose of heft to the Telluride’s design.
The other major upgrade might very well come in the form of additional engine options. Though the 2026 model will likely retain the first generation’s 3.8-liter V-6, expect alternatives to emerge in this new era of the Telluride. After all, if the Telluride is going to start taking styling cues from its EV cousins, why not also adapt a hybrid powertrain? The 2.5-liter turbo four-cylinder (currently used with the Sorento line) is another possibility.
